Monday – Friday: 4-8 hour shifts available

The primary objective of the Food Service Worker (FSW) is to support the Summer Food Service Program and Afterschool Meals programs run by Prodigy Preparatory throughout Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The FSW must be detail-oriented, appreciate routine and have a strong inclination toward administrative work. The FSW will maintain and facilitate meal services operating in accordance with program regulations. The ideal candidate is energetic, hard-working, organized, a master multi-tasker, thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a background in customer service/relationship management.

Responsibilities:

Assure that meals are properly portioned and distributed; maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen in compliance with Department of Health regulations; assure compliance with CACFP and SFSP programs

• Ability to lead, take initiative, work independently and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, paying close attention to detail on many varied tasks;
• Keep abreast of public policies which affect children and families and participate in and support advocacy efforts to secure adoption of local, state, and federal policies which are in the best interest of children and families.
• Demonstrated ability to perform effectively the duties required for the job including verbal ability to communicate, auditory capacity to respond to children and adults, visual ability to complete written assignments, and physical ability to complete assignments given
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with fellow employees, program participants, other government agencies, and the public
